Description

Look at the IQOS UAE store and two sticks in this edition carry the same one-word label: “Nutty”. Amber is one. TEREA Teak is the other. Almost no UAE retailer explains what separates them, so people buy the wrong one.

Here is the short version. IQOS rates Teak at 4/5 intensity and Amber at 3/5. Teak is the stronger nutty stick, Amber the milder one. Same family, one step apart.

The official blend wording for Teak is “blend of rounded, toasted tobacco accompanied by nutty aromas”, which IQOS shortens to “Rounded & nutty”. This is the UAE edition pack.

What does TEREA Teak actually taste like?

The base is a rounded, toasted tobacco. On top of it sit nutty aromas, and unlike Amber there is no woody note listed alongside them. Nut is the only named aroma for Teak.

That focus is why it reads more nut-forward. Nothing else in the description competes with it, so the aroma comes through cleanly from the middle of the session onward.

The published IQOS ratings are intensity 4/5, body 3/5, aroma 4/5. That puts Teak in the stronger half of the range on intensity while keeping a mid weight body.

Worth saying what Teak is not. It is not sweet, it is not cooled, and there is no cocoa or fruit note in the official wording. If a listing tells you Teak tastes of caramel or vanilla, that is invented.

Teak or Amber: which “Nutty” stick should you buy?

This is the question the UAE listing creates and never answers. The wider IQOS material does answer it, and the table shows how.

Read the Teak and Amber rows together and the difference is one point of intensity plus that extra woody note in Amber. Amber is the softer, rounder version. Teak concentrates on nut and hits harder.

If you want strength but not nut, TEREA Sienna matches Teak at 4/5 intensity and adds a point of body with a tea and woody aroma instead. TEREA Yellow is the opposite direction entirely, light in body with a citrus lift. IQOS publishes no ratings for TEREA Bronze, so we leave those cells marked rather than guessing.

What does the UAE edition actually change?

A country edition names the market a pack was produced for. That controls the pack artwork, the printed language and the health warnings on the box.

The UAE is one of the markets where IQOS sells TEREA through its own store. That is where the “Nutty” label for both Teak and Amber comes from, and it is exactly the case where the short local descriptor is less useful than IQOS’s longer wording.

The blend does not change per edition. IQOS publishes one blend description per flavour name across markets, and PMI has made no statement about reformulating a blend for a country. Teak from Kazakhstan carries the same description as this pack.

Which devices does TEREA Teak work with?

Teak works in IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA i devices. That is the complete list.

The stick carries a metal element that the device heats by induction. Because nothing goes into the tobacco, there is no blade to snap and nothing to clean out.

Older blade models are not an option. IQOS warns that using TEREA in IQOS ORIGINALS or ORIGINALS ONE may damage the device.

What is in the pack and how long does one stick last?

Twenty sticks in a pack, ten packs in a carton, so 200 sticks per carton.

Every stick gives one session of up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, whichever comes first. On ILUMA i there is around 20 seconds of preheating before that starts. Our post on TEREA puff count explains why the puff limit matters more than the clock for most people.

How do you use a TEREA Teak stick?

Push the stick into the ILUMA holder up to the printed line, then start the device. No twisting, no cleaning afterwards.

Because the tobacco is heated and not burned, IQOS states there is no smoke and no ash. A stick cannot be paused and restarted, so start one when you have the full six minutes.

When the device signals the end, take the stick out and throw it away whole. Do not open one up.

Who should pick Teak, and who should skip it?

Pick Teak if you already like Amber and keep wishing it were stronger. That is the single most common reason people move across, and the published ratings back it up.

Skip it if you are new to heated tobacco. A 4/5 intensity stick is a lot to start on, and Amber gives you the same aroma at 3/5.

Skip it too if nut is not your thing. Bronze goes cocoa, Yellow goes citrus, Silver goes almost plain. The flavour family index groups them all so you can see the options at once.

How should you store TEREA sticks in the UAE?

Keep packs indoors at room temperature and out of direct sun. The dashboard of a parked car is the worst place for them in a Dubai summer.

Do not refrigerate sticks, and leave unopened packs in their foil until you need them. Once the foil is broken the sticks start to dry out.

Because IQOS UAE uses one-word labels on its store and both sticks share the nut direction. IQOS publishes longer wording and ratings that separate them: Teak at 4/5 intensity, Amber at 3/5 with an added woody note.

Is Teak the strongest TEREA in the UAE edition?

It ties with Sienna at 4/5 intensity, the highest published in this edition. Sienna carries more body at 4/5 against Teak’s 3/5, so Sienna feels fuller while the two match on strength.

How much nicotine is in a Teak stick?

IQOS does not publish a per-stick nicotine figure for this variant, so we do not print one. Any listing showing an exact milligram number for Teak is repeating an unsourced figure rather than an official IQOS specification.

Does Teak come in other country editions?
