LAMBDA i9 is a third party induction heating device, not an IQOS product. Lambda states it is compatible with TEREA and other SMARTCORE sticks.
LAMBDA i9 is a third party induction heating device, not an IQOS product. Lambda states it is compatible with TEREA and other SMARTCORE sticks.
We stock it in six colours. Lambda publishes the same specification sheet for i9 as it does for i8 and i10, so the choice here is a finish decision.
No. Lambda is a separate manufacturer. Lambda states its i-series is compatible with TEREA and other SMARTCORE sticks, which is Lambda’s own claim about its own device.
IQOS publishes compatibility only for its own ILUMA and ILUMA i devices and does not list any third party device. Those are two different companies describing their own products, and we are not going to let one speak for the other.
Nothing on this page implies i9 is official, authorised or endorsed by IQOS or Philip Morris International.
Only the finish. Black, Gold, Green, Grey, Red and Silver all share the same battery, the same temperature range and the same session length.
Pick whichever colour you would rather carry. None of them heats faster or lasts longer than another.
Lambda publishes the same specification sheet for all three tiers. The table shows exactly what that means.
| Model | Battery | Per full charge | Temperature | Session time | Published difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LAMBDA i8 | 3200 mAh | 35 to 40 sessions | 200 to 300 C, adjustable | 3 to 6 min, adjustable | None published |
| LAMBDA i9 | 3200 mAh | 35 to 40 sessions | 200 to 300 C, adjustable | 3 to 6 min, adjustable | None published |
| LAMBDA i10 | 3200 mAh | 35 to 40 sessions | 200 to 300 C, adjustable | 3 to 6 min, adjustable | None published |
There is no published performance difference between the three tiers. On Lambda’s own numbers, i9 sits in the middle by release order only, not by any confirmed spec advantage.
If there is a real difference, it is generation and finish, and Lambda does not publish a detailed breakdown of what changed. Our i8 vs i9 vs i10 guide covers what is and is not confirmed.
The genuine difference is temperature and session control. i9 lets you set 200 to 300 C and a 3 to 6 minute session. IQOS ILUMA i runs a fixed session of up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, whichever comes first, with no user-set temperature.
IQOS’s own compatibility statement covers only its own devices. Lambda’s compatibility claim is Lambda’s own, stated separately above.
Our Lambda vs IQOS ILUMA guide compares the two on battery, temperature control and what neither company confirms.
Lambda states the i9 is compatible with TEREA and other SMARTCORE sticks. This is an induction device, so it takes SMARTCORE sticks, not HEETS, which are a blade-heated format.
Browse the TEREA range on our TEREA sticks page, or read our Lambda and TEREA compatibility guide for the full picture.
Lambda publishes 3200 mAh, giving 35 to 40 sessions per full charge, with a full charge taking about 2.5 hours.
Lambda does not publish how the temperature setting affects that session count, so we cannot tell you whether a higher setting costs you sessions.
Our battery care guide covers general charging habits for induction devices like this one.
No blade goes into the stick, since this is an induction device. Lambda publishes no approved cleaning product or schedule, so we invent neither.
Lambda’s own specification sheet lists a display without naming the panel type. Some retail listings call it OLED, but we cannot confirm that from the manufacturer, so we call it a display rather than pick a side.
No, and we will not suggest otherwise. IQOS publishes compatibility only for its own ILUMA and ILUMA i devices, and does not list Lambda anywhere. Lambda’s compatibility claim is a separate statement from a separate company.
Neither company publishes a position we can quote here, so we are not going to invent a warranty term for either direction, whatever a retailer’s own listing happens to promise you.
Only in release order, not in published performance. The specification sheet is identical across all three tiers we stock, so i9 does not do anything on paper that the other two devices cannot also do.
No, it does not. HEETS are a blade-heated stick format built for a different kind of device. i9 is an induction device built for SMARTCORE sticks like TEREA, not for blade-heated sticks.
This device is used with heated tobacco sticks that contain tobacco and nicotine. Nicotine is addictive and these products are not risk free.
They are intended only for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke or use nicotine. They are not for non-smokers, for anyone under 18, or for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not ingest or take apart a heated tobacco stick. Keep sticks and the device out of reach of children. See our age policy for how we handle this.
