TEREA Sun Pearl Japan

Description

TEREA Sun Pearl is a capsule menthol from the Japanese TEREA range. On its own it is a refreshing menthol, and a small capsule sits in the filter. Squeeze it until it clicks and a watermelon aroma runs through the cooling.

This is the Japan market pack, printed in Japanese. A Sun Pearl also exists in the international range, and the two packs are described differently, which we cover below.

What does TEREA Sun Pearl actually taste like?

IQOS Japan gives it one line, which translates as follows.

That single line covers two sticks. Unclicked it is a refreshing menthol over a light tobacco base, with no fruit in the session at all.

Clicked, the cooling stays as it was and a light watermelon sweetness sits over it. IQOS Japan calls it crisp, and that is fair.

Watermelon is a soft, watery fruit, so it does not fight the menthol. It reads clean rather than syrupy, which suits hot weather.

Where does TEREA Sun Pearl sit in the Japan TEREA range?

A capsule stick is best placed around the click, so Sun Pearl covers two points below.

The table sets the official Japanese wording side by side.

For something lighter with no fruit and no click, take TEREA Mint Japan, the lowest menthol level in the Japan range.

For more cold rather than more fruit, move up to TEREA Black Menthol Japan. In IQOS Japan wording, Black means strong menthol built on intensely cooling menthol, while every non Black menthol is refreshing menthol.

What does the Japan edition change?

Japan uses its own naming system for TEREA. It sells Regular, Rich Regular, Smooth Regular, Balanced Regular, Warm Regular and Ruby Regular plus a menthol family, while the international range sells Amber, Sienna, Silver and Yellow.

UAE shops stock both systems and rarely explain the gap, so buyers pick a familiar name and get something else. Sun Pearl is the clearest example.

Sun Pearl is the one name in both systems, and the two official descriptions do not match. We stock the international pack as TEREA Sun Pearl Kazakhstan, so you can compare them directly.

Both texts agree on the main part. There is a capsule, and clicking it brings watermelon and cooling.

The difference is the base. The Japan text names a refreshing menthol, so cooling is there from the first puff. The international text names a balanced toasted tobacco with light spicy herb notes, and puts the cooling on the click.

Read plainly, the Japan pack is a menthol stick that gains fruit, and the international pack is a tobacco stick that gains cooling and fruit.

Be clear on what this is. We are comparing published descriptions, not lab results, and IQOS publishes no mapping between markets, so we cannot say the blends are or are not identical.

If you want cooling from the first puff, take the Japan pack. If you want tobacco first and cooling only when you decide, the international pack fits better.

One more point trips people up. In the Japan range only the Pearl family has a capsule, meaning Sun Pearl and TEREA Oasis Pearl Japan and nothing else.

Tropical Menthol, Bright Menthol, Purple Menthol, Yellow Menthol and TEREA Fusion Menthol Japan are fixed flavour sticks. Fruity does not mean clickable.

The pack is Japanese retail stock, so the pack text and health warning are in Japanese. The sticks inside are standard TEREA sticks and heat the same way.

What is inside the box?

The carton weighs about 240 grams and measures 162 x 75 x 47 mm.

No device, charger or accessory is included. This listing is tobacco sticks only, so you need an ILUMA device already.

How do you use TEREA Sun Pearl?

ILUMA devices heat the element sealed inside the stick, so there is no blade in the holder, and no cleaning sticks are needed.

Which devices does TEREA Sun Pearl work with?

TEREA works with the IQOS ILUMA series only. That means ILUMA Standard, One and Prime, plus ILUMA i Standard, One and Prime.

Both generations are on our IQOS ILUMA device and IQOS ILUMA i device pages.

Older blade devices will not work with this stick, and forcing one in can damage it.

Who should pick TEREA Sun Pearl, and who should skip it?

Pick it if you want a light, clean fruit note rather than a heavy sweet one, and if cooling from the first puff suits you in UAE heat.

Skip it if you want richer tropical sweetness, and take Oasis Pearl instead. Skip it if fruit is not for you at all, and take TEREA Menthol Japan for straight peppermint cooling.

Skip it if you want tobacco character first and cooling only on the click, because that is what the international wording describes, not this pack.

How should you store TEREA Sun Pearl in the UAE?

Heat and humidity are what spoil a carton here. Keep packs sealed until you need them and store the carton indoors in air conditioning.

Never leave a pack in a parked car, on a balcony or a window ledge, and keep it away from steam and damp.

What else is worth trying from the Japan range?

The TEREA Japan collection lists every Japanese variant we carry, the Kazakhstan collection holds the international packs, and the Pearl capsule range groups the click sticks.

How do you order TEREA Sun Pearl in Dubai?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Japan Sun Pearl the same as the international Sun Pearl?

The name is shared but the official descriptions differ. Japan describes a refreshing menthol with watermelon on the click, while the international text describes a toasted tobacco with spicy herb notes that gains cooling and watermelon on the click.

Which Sun Pearl should you buy?

Buy the Japan pack if you want menthol cooling from the first puff. Buy the international pack if you prefer tobacco character first and want the cooling to arrive only when you click the capsule.

Can you click the capsule more than once?

No. The capsule breaks once and stays broken, so the click is one way and cannot be undone. Squeezing again does nothing, and the stick cannot return to plain menthol once the watermelon is released.

What happens if you never click the capsule?

You get a plain refreshing menthol for the whole session, with a light tobacco base and no fruit. That two in one behaviour is the point of a Pearl stick, so one carton can serve two tastes.

Do other Japanese fruity menthols have a capsule?

No. In the Japan range only the Pearl family carries a capsule, meaning Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl. Tropical Menthol, Bright Menthol, Purple Menthol, Yellow Menthol and Fusion Menthol are fixed flavour sticks with nothing to click.

Does the Japanese pack text affect anything?

Only what you can read on the box. The pack text and health warning are printed in Japanese, but the sticks are standard TEREA sticks and heat in an ILUMA device exactly as any other pack does.
