What does TEREA Oasis Pearl actually taste like?

IQOS Japan gives it one line, which translates as follows.

That line describes two states. Before the click it is a refreshing menthol with a light tobacco base and nothing fruity on top.

After the click the cooling stays where it was and a soft tropical sweetness arrives over it. The menthol does not get colder, it gets company.

Passionfruit is the rarest fruit note in the TEREA range, so most buyers have no reference for it. Fresh, it is sharp and a little sour, between mango and citrus. In the stick it lands rounder, more sweet than sour.

What does the Japan edition change?

Japan runs its own naming system for TEREA. It sells Regular, Rich Regular, Smooth Regular, Balanced Regular, Warm Regular and Ruby Regular plus a menthol family, while the international range sells Amber, Sienna, Russet, Silver and Yellow.

Most UAE shops stock both systems and never explain the gap, so buyers order a familiar name and get a stick they did not expect.

The pack is built for Japanese retail. The brand name is in Latin letters, but the pack text and the health warning are printed in Japanese only.

The sticks inside are standard TEREA sticks with the element sealed in, so the printing changes nothing about how they heat or fit.

Now the part that matters most here. In the Japan range only the Pearl family has a capsule, which means Oasis Pearl and TEREA Sun Pearl Japan and nothing else.

Buyers often assume the other fruity menthols carry a capsule too, and they do not. Tropical Menthol, Purple Menthol, Bright Menthol and Fusion Menthol are fixed flavour sticks with no click.

Oasis Pearl is also where the wording comparison runs out. The international range has capsule Pearls such as TEREA Sun Pearl Kazakhstan and TEREA Twilight Pearl Kazakhstan, but neither official text mentions passionfruit.

So we will not claim an international twin. IQOS publishes no official mapping between markets, and on published wording passionfruit appears only in the Japan Oasis Pearl description.

The real decision is Oasis Pearl against Sun Pearl, the two Japan Pearls. Both are a refreshing menthol with a capsule, so the choice is only about the fruit the click releases.

Oasis Pearl gives passionfruit, called mellow and rich. Sun Pearl gives watermelon, called crisp. Passionfruit reads as the sweeter and more tropical of the two, watermelon as the lighter one.

No. The capsule breaks once and stays broken, so the click is one way and cannot be undone. Squeezing again does nothing, and the stick cannot go back to plain menthol once the passionfruit is out.

What happens if you never click the capsule?

You get a plain refreshing menthol for the whole session, with a light tobacco base and no fruit. That two in one behaviour is the point of a Pearl stick, so one carton can serve two tastes.

Is Oasis Pearl the same as Sun Pearl?
